A little about me

Hi! I'm Knate. My journey into the world of creativity began early, jumping into everything from digital production for youth groups and schools to performing on the piano, drums, guitar, and trombone. I guess you could say my undiagnosed ADHD had its perks, fueling a never-ending curiosity to explore and master one hobby after another.
After earning my degree in Digital Technology and Culture from WSU, I found myself unexpectedly diving into residential and commercial electrical work for six years. Even then, my passion for creating never faded. Over time, my father and I built up a workshop brimming with gadgets like 3D printers, laser cutters, and soldering irons, turning it into my personal lab for all sorts of projects.
When I’m not tinkering in my workshop, I’m out chasing adventures that keep me moving and smiling. I love snowboarding—there’s nothing quite like the rush of gliding through fresh snow. Building and racing go-karts and mini bikes also gets my adrenaline pumping. Then there’s camping, which reconnects me with nature, and tennis, which is perfect for some friendly competition. And I can never resist the pull of live music, soaking in the vibe of every beat. Between these hobbies and my creative work, I find a beautiful balance that keeps life exciting and fulfilling.

Thats what chatGPT typed up for me when I gave it some basic bio of me. It's pretty wild how fast the AI front is moving at the moment. It's pretty accurate though and I hate talking about myself so it feels like a win for me.
Here's my hard to follow personally written update on my current situation.

I’m starting off with custom wood cut signs. Indoor signs with custom lighting. Small business logos, bar signs, anything signs really. Maybe you stream and want your slogan behind you to flash to the music. If you have an idea I’m sure I can work with you to come up with something. Or at least point you in the right direction. But I’m not here to pitch my OnlySigns, I wouldn’t survive off signs alone ( I think ).

So basically I make random merch. Oh yeah I make t-shirts too (heat pressed not screen printed). Just being a merch guy would get old fast for me though. I got bored with just wood and glass and decided to go plastic. Turns out the 3D printer was the final tool i needed to get good enough at before I felt like I could turn this hobby into a career. I subscribe to 3D model designers who give me models that I can print out and sell. I pick ones I like, run my printers like mad, then sell em to people for more than I spent on materials. Anyone can do that though and I’m a DIY guy. Luckily in college I took some 3D animation courses. Prototyping and having it in your hands in hours is incredible. I’m building a library of my own models to sell.
Anyway I’m surprised you’ve read to this point. The end goal for me is to work in a shop of my own doing what I love. I’ll try to document my process and put it up on this website. Eventually I’ll integrate a shop where you can purchase directly from me. Until then just like my stuff on instagram. If you have any ideas or are interested in purchasing something I made send me an email through my contact page. Thanks for reading all this. Stay tuned.
